Accounting Manager – Heartstrings Pet Hospice
The Accounting Manager at Heartstrings Pet Hospice will oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations for our rapidly growing, multi-state veterinary practice. This role will ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting while developing scalable systems to support our expanding operations. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with leadership to drive informed decision-making, manage cash flow, and uphold strong internal controls.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a deep understanding of GAAP, exceptional analytical skills, and experience working in service-based or multi-entity businesses. They will be responsible for monthly financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management, as well as implementing best practices to optimize processes.

Requirements
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred, but not required
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity or service-based businesses
- Experience in veterinary, healthcare, or startup environments is a plus
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and accounting workflows
- Experience with Gusto, Bill.com, and other cloud-based accounting tools strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Familiarity with GAAP and regulatory compliance standards

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
