We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accuracy in financial records, and manage a small team. The role will focus on bank-related transactions, cash flow management, and timely financial reporting. Prior experience in the shipping industry is an advantage.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for bank-related matters such as fund transfers, bank certificates, account openings, bank guarantees, short-term investments, and KYC compliance.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Supervise the Cash Disbursement Team and act as Petty Cash Fund (PCF) custodian.
  • Prepare weekly Cash Position Reports (CPR) and cash plans.
  • Post accounting entries in Sage (A/R, A/P, and GL modules).
  • Prepare accruals and adjusting entries as needed.
  • Manage lapsing schedules and prepayment amortization.
  • Maintain schedules for Accounts Payable (Others), Advances, Accruals, and Office & Other Payables.
  • Check monthly bank reconciliation statements and schedule of short-term investments.
  • Prepare CPR summary, month-end bank balances, and recap reports.
  • Review general ledger entries and group cross charges.
  • Handle monthly financial reports for Spica Services Phils. Inc. and Marine Connection Phils. Inc.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor or department head.

Secondary Duties

  • File and maintain accounting documents.
  • Monitor and verify MAS/IL/OSH collections credited in BDO.
  • Monitor bank balances and initiate necessary fund transfers.
  • Serve as backup for MAS/IL/OSH (CTM) dollar withdrawals.
  • Verify previous month’s payments.

Requirements

  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in the shipping industry is an advantage.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (preferably Sage) and MS Office applications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work 100% onsite in Pasay City.

Benefits

Salary Range: 40,000 - 50,000
