Accounts Officer

Your New Company/Role:

My client who is a well established and renowned organisation is looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join their team based in Kurri Kurri NSW 2327 (close to Hunter Valley) . This is a 6 weeks temporary role and subject to extension. This role is to be based in the office 5 days per week and onsite parking provided. Ideal candidates will have great exposure in end to end Accounts Payable function, data entry, some exposure in accounts receivable and receipting. Open to anyone who is on a visa as well as long as they can commit for the duration. Please check if the location works for you prior to applying to the role.

About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:

Reporting into a supportive and nurturing Manager:

Your duties include:

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process. You'll be responsible for ensuring invoices are processed accurately and paid on time, building strong relationships with our suppliers, and resolving any payment queries efficiently
• Perform accurate and efficient data entry. Your attention to detail will be key as you input financial data, ensuring our records are always up-to-date and reliable and happy to perform some manual tasks
• Process and reconcile receipts. You'll play a vital role in managing incoming payments, reconciling them against our financial records, and helping to maintain the accuracy of our accounts
• Other ad hoc tasks as requested by the team/manager

Ideal Profile

This opportunity is for someone who has experience in an Accounts Officer/Accounts Assistant role with an Accounting background. You will also bring:

• Diploma or Bachelors in Accounting & Finance/equivalent qualification or relevant experience
• Prior experience in a similar role ( 1 year or more ) - experience in construction, engineering or heavy equipment industry is highly desirable but not essential
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Exposure to large ERP system
• Intermediate Excel proficiency
• Someone who can work in fast paced environment
• Strong work ethic
• Able to work with minimal supervision
