Job Summary

The Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer specializing in Bank Reconciliation. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation of the company’s bank accounts by reviewing financial transactions and resolving discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with different departments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of bank statements.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and the company’s accounting records.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all reconciliation activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to resolve any outstanding transactions.
  • Ensure that all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and documentation required for audits.
  • Provide support in evaluating financial activities and advising on necessary actions.

Requirements

Educational and Work Experience

  • B.Sc. or HND in Finance/Accounting or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) is a plus.
  • 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in bank reconciliation or accounting roles.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of finance best practices and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software (experience with SAP is an advantage).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
