As an Analytics Manager, you will be in a central position as you will be evangelising data and our methodologies to other functional analysts and other stakeholders in the company. You will own the governance of our BI dashboards and reporting. You will have close interaction with teams in marketing, sales, finance, and product. You will work in a fast-paced environment that is professional, international and entrepreneurial.
Key Responsibilities:
Analytics:
- Access, construct and manipulate large datasets to support planned analysis, using SQL, Python and similar tools.
- Design and develop BI dashboards using Sisense or similar tools (Tableau, PowerBI, DataStudio) for various organisational metrics and indicators using best practices and industry standards in finance, sales, inventory, and other areas.
- Define KPIs metrics and drive the data governance through standardisation and communication.
- Be adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
- Research and validation of entity data using appropriate internal and external data sources.
- Liaise and analyse across projects within the Reference Data environment.
- Analyse, specify, test and implement interfaces, workflow solutions, and reference data solutions – An example would be regression testing systems ahead of upgrades.
- Develop new models to address business needs, as well as identify and implement improvements to existing solutions; projects are diverse and can take several forms (e.g. simulation, linear/non-linear optimisation, prediction, machine learning).
- Create and maintain documentation for analytics, tools, and processes to ensure an effective transition to the end user.
- Be responsible for the technical excellence of other team members' work.
- Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
- Proactively engage various data teams about the progression of the current sprint and roadmap.
- Take responsibility for data quality and the timely delivery of reports that make common business sense.
- Responsible for Data Privacy and Security (including organising credentials in Lastpass).
- Maintain Data Analytics Roadmap.
- Be accountable for monitoring and optimising the cost and efficiency of the technical solution.
- Merge requests into production after careful review.
- Drive the design, implementation and interpretation of experiments/trials for continuous refinement of ongoing strategies.
- Conduct a full lifecycle analysis that includes requirements, activities, and design.
- Run sprint planning.
- Ensure comprehensive tracking of user activities, journeys, and funnels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to help develop data-informed business strategies and roadmaps.
- Partner with the finance team in developing budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses that are informed by data-driven insights and operating metrics.
- Continuously manage all launched propositions and products and handle the pre-analysis and post assessments.
Team Management:
- Manage a team of data and commercial analysts.
- Develop the career of the team members, give feedback and manage performance.
- Build the team's SMART objectives or OKR.
- Project manage the cross-functional projects, set the right level of expectation with Stakeholders and deliver within the agreed timeline.
- Organise team workload allocation, including leave time, to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a people manager.
- 8+ years of work experience in analytics, having closely worked with product and commercial in an internet/e-commerce company.
- Experience in e-commerce, internet and/or digital media.
- Experience building, implementing and/or maintaining predictive models on very large datasets.
- Experience in enabling stakeholders to become data-driven.
Knowledge:
- Proficient in SQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Skills in Python, R or similar tools are a big plus.
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc).
Skills:
- Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to translate data and information into actionable insights and business recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
