Aqua Aerobics Instructor

The Town of Gawler is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Aqua Instructor to join the team at the Gawler Aquatic Centre. This is your chance to lead Aquaerobics classes in a fun and supportive environment while enjoying the sunshine this summer.

The Role

As an Aqua Instructor at the Gawler Aquatic Centre, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Aquaerobics classes that are safe, enjoyable, and targeted to the needs and demographic of the local community. Your role will include ensuring the safety of participants, promoting the programs, and maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional instruction in Aquaerobics classes, ensuring they are safe, fun, and engaging.
• Supervise participants and ensure their safety, responding to first aid and emergency situations as needed
• Set up and pack up equipment for classes, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained
• Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and Centre procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service, effectively liaising and communicating with participants
• Positively promote the Town of Gawler and its Aquatic & Recreation Services programs

Certifications You Will Need:

• Aqua Fitness Qualification or AUSTSWIM WETS
• CPR
• Working With Children Check

Desirable Qualifications:

• AUSTSWIM or equivalent Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
• Provide First Aid
• Child Safe Environments
• Pool Lifeguard
• Certificate III or IV in Fitness and Personal Training
• Experience teaching Aquaerobics

Benefits:

• Pay rate: $67+ per class
