Role Definition

As Associate Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the Design and drafting of Solar Turbine’s Construction Services’ Products. You will involve in the designs, develop and implements new components, products, or technologies related to piping systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate should possess a minimum of 6-8 years of industry experience in engineering / design execution and associated applications
  • Designing and laying out piping systems for various projects, ensuring they meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Design, improve and standardize Fabrication and assembly processes of large bore pipes.
  • Ensuring that all piping systems comply with relevant specifications, codes, and standards such as ASME B 31.3 AND B 31.8.
  • Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of piping systems, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and managing project timelines and budgets.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues in existing piping systems and performing regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in build analysis for product completion.
  • Preparation MTO, BOM from Piping 3D Models.
  • Preparing technical reports and quality audit documents.

Degree Requirement - Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

Level Basic Understanding:

  • Describes alternative solutions to piping routers and pipe fabrication assembly techniques.
  • Ability to collect data to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Identifies key objectives like temperature and pressure for identifying piping materials.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Level Basic Understanding:

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Autodesk Plant 3D, Inventor, E3D or similar tools for designing and modelling piping systems.
  • Proficiency in Navis Work manage.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Level Basic Understanding:

  • Ability to manage projects, including scheduling and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Explains characteristics and steps in an effective decision-making process.
  • Identifies issues and communicates with other Engineers, Project Managers and Stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate with decision makers in own environment and cites examples of past decisions.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Definition drawings, 3D Equipment Modelling, Pipe Routing
  • Line Sizing, Thickness Calculation, Pressure drop calculation.
  • Pipe Stress Analysis and Support Engineering.
  • Piping drawings – Piping Isometrics, Piping Plan & Elevation, Details,
  • MTOs/BOMs, NWD models, Clash checks, Vendor Drawing Review.
  • Working experience with 3D Design Tools: AutoCAD Plant 3D. E3D, CAESAR II.

Candidate should Well Versed with Oil and gas EPC projects with exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
