About the role
As Cloud Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. With a focus on AWS services like Cloud Front, OpenSearch, Athena, etc, you will contribute to innovative solutions that drive business success. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders and teams.
In this role, you will:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
· Design and document scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures.
· Set, enforce, and update technical standards, architecture patterns, and coding guidelines across projects.
· Ensure that all systems meet security, compliance, and quality standards required by the organization.
· Communicate with end-users (clients) and interact with technical teams.
· Troubleshoot end-user’s issues and determine the root cause of the issue.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to the end-users.
· Learn end-to-end flow for new applications.
· Monitor applications, handle outages/maintenance/upgrade activities.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Plano, TX.

What you need to have to be considered:
· Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related, and 10+ years of relevant experience.
· AWS Services Knowledge/experience – Prefer knowledge with key services like CloudFront, OpenSearch, Glu Jobs, Athena, Lambda functions, DNS.
· Strong technical skills in systems architecture, security risk management, virtualization, cloud technologies, and IT management.
· Graphana experience - ServiceNow experience as an end-user as this will be the ticketing tool - Database knowledge and expertise – SQL, DynamoDB, PostGre, SubProd data refresh, Data fixes.
· Good expertise in NodeJS, Java, Angular.
These will help you stand out:
· Very good troubleshooting and application support expertise as it requires app monitoring, outage handling, upgrade and maintenance activities including infrastructure level support handling.
· Excellent communication skills – requires interaction with multiple teams, end-users, infrastructure point of contacts and pro-active communication with different teams.
· Good problem-solving skills.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will depends on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
