Business Analyst

Role Definition:

Provide IT solutions for our Reman business partners by applying technology to growth, enhancement, and optimization process opportunities. Utilize software development methodologies with solution providers to deliver business value.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide consulting services to internal business groups on process improvement projects designed to improve their business results.

  • Analyze, define, and document client's requirements, and revise existing systems’ logic challenges, as necessary.

  • Monitor client experience and feedback on the use of business applications; enhance system productivity, as needed.

  • Participate in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems that are cost effective and meet business requirements.

  • Guide others in the process of defining alternatives and assessing their impact.

  • Gains agreement on the problem-solving process, risk assessment, decision points, and criteria.

  • Facilitate successful completion of test scripts & cases with the IT and Business user community.

  • Evaluates software configuration necessary to meet business processes requirements.

  • Prepare technical specifications for development team members utilizing knowledge of Java and Spring boot along with data requirements with SQL and Oracle.

  • Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and integration trends and advises business partners regarding their potential business impacts.

  • Design user interface requirements with mockup tools like wireframe and Balsamiq.

  • Document use cases for development and test cases for IT and user validation testing.

What You Have:

  • Multiple years of experience in IT preferably in a business analyst role

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferrable in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

  • Demonstrate the following core competencies: leadership, strong initiative, judgement, accountability, planning, teamwork, and managed risk-taking.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team leader or team member.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • Strong people skills

  • High initiative

  • Focus on collaborating with business partners to solve problems together.

  • Have experience in a software development life cycle role using tools like:

    • Development language & containerization framework like Java & Spring boot

    • DBSM skills like SQL & Oracle

    • Creating and developing User Interface solutions with Wireframe & Balsamiq

    • Documenting workflow requirements with tools like Visio

    • Use case & Test script documentation using capabilities like Playwright.

Additional Information:

  • The primary locations for this position are Corinth, MS.

  • This position requires you to work in the office 5 days a week.

  • Sponsorship is NOT available.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
