As a Business Development / Strategy Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a dynamic sales team, driving execution toward strategic business goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across product and marketing project execution, while collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and key customer stakeholders.

What you will do:

  • Strategic Analysis & Opportunity Identification
    Evaluate organizational strengths and weaknesses to uncover growth opportunities within the sales and operations landscape.

  • Team Leadership & Daily Operations
    Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members involved in product support, sales execution, and customer issue resolution.

  • Sales Strategy & Enablement
    Develop and implement both short- and long-term sales strategies. Design and deliver training programs to elevate team performance.

  • Revenue Growth & Sales Management
    Direct the sales force to meet revenue and profitability targets, including setting pricing strategies and discount structures.

What skills you will have:

Data Gathering & Analysis: Skilled in collecting and synthesizing data from diverse stakeholders to inform business development strategies. Applies objective analysis to identify trends, evaluate market potential, and support decision-making for new product or service offerings.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Applies structured decision-making processes to evaluate complex business scenarios. Uses informed judgment to assess risks, prioritize opportunities, and guide strategic initiatives that align with Caterpillar’s growth objectives.

Negotiating: Experienced in negotiating partnerships, contracts, and customer agreements that drive business growth. Navigates internal and external negotiations with a collaborative approach to secure favorable outcomes for Caterpillar.

Relationship Management: Builds and sustains strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams. Uses relationship management techniques to foster trust, uncover new opportunities, and support long-term business development goals.

Value Selling: Applies value-based selling principles to position Caterpillar’s products and services effectively.

Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ office.

Relocation assistance is available.

This position may require up to 20 % travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$156,000.00 - $234,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
