As a Business Process Architect, you will play a key role in building the next evolution of analytics at Caterpillar as part of Global Facilities and Corporate Real Estate team within the Indirect Services Organization.

You will work with internal customers to understand complex, nuanced problems and partner with key stakeholders, CAT Global IT, data engineers, and other analysts to define current and future state processes / tools and data governance for more than 1/3 of the office space globally throughout Caterpillar.

What You Will Do:

  • Transform business questions into technical requirements that can deliver flexible, sustainable data products to serve the business.
  • Investigate and assess gaps in business process and data assets to recommend changes to and create new data products and automations.
  • Lead the development of junior data scientists and citizen developers – creating/curating guides, resources, and standards to support implementation of the analytics strategy.
  • Develop / Benchmark engaging, actionable, and visually appealing digital products and dashboards.

What You Have:

  • Process Management: Ability to design, implement, and optimize business processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves analyzing existing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating across departments to ensure processes align with strategic goals. Define and implement standard operation procedures and monitor results.
  • Business Data Analysis: Highly skilled in using SQL, Dashboards (Tableau, Power BI), Visio, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Snowflake or cloud data services. Highly skilled in data analytics techniques, automation, data science, and AI to drive business KPI results.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Project management skills, process/LEAN savvy.
  • Effective Communications: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external business partners including senior leaders. Excellent human relations skills to develop a collaborative environment with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Business Assessment: Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Research Analysis: Knowledge of concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Proven Data Strategy & Architecture experience
  • Professional experience in data analytics or data science role
  • Experience with facilities / building type tools, technologies and transformation initiatives
  • Technical background using datasets in SQL
  • Experience creating visuals and modeling data in Power BI
  • Ability to collect required business data through various data sources and apply data analysis techniques to establish, modify, and maintain business data structures
  • Experience with project management concepts including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion
  • 5+ years of business insights and automation related experience preferred

Additional Details:

  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
  • Required to be in office 5 days/week
  • Limited travel expected

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
