What You Will Do:

Category Buyer (HVAC) You’ll be the key link between Caterpillar and our suppliers driving negotiations and securing critical components for HVACs (cabs), directly supporting North America & Europe facilities. You’ll also support new product development by collaborating with design engineers on new part designs.

What the candidate will do:

• Manage supplier relationships, focusing on quality, costs, and logistics
• Oversee supplier onboarding/offboarding and maintain/create supplier agreements
• Handle daily procurement tasks and supplier performance management
• Collaborate on part-level products and process development through Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD)
• Support new product development by working on supplier selection, product cost targets, and ensuring supplier readiness.

Degree Requirement:

Any engineering or bachelor’s degree related to the field.

Advanced English-speaking level required.

Effective Communications

• Monitors the effectiveness of procurement policies and strategies in high-cost purchases

Negotiating

• Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terms with internal teams and external vendors.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities

• Working knowledge in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, quality and/or engineering

Supplier Relationship Management

• Working knowledge in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and maintaining supplier and development agreements
• Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, fostering productive partnerships and ensuring alignment with business goals

Strategic Sourcing

• Strong data analytics skills with experience in analyzing supplier performance and procurement data to drive decision-making. Working knowledge in SAP/ERP/Log net or similar system.

Top candidates will have:

Working knowledge with Cab Components

Working knowledge in leading teams, supplier, and customers to effective solutions.

Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skills.

Working knowledge of New Product Introductions (NPI), lean, & standard processes.

Knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components

Additional information

• Position is in Santa Catarina.
• The work schedule is set Monday to Friday (7am-4pm).
• Required to travel up to 20% (international and domestic).
• Domestic relocation is not offered.
