We're looking for a skilled and motivated Software Engineer with at least 2 years of experience working with AWS or other public cloud platforms. If you have a strong background in commercial software development and a passion for building scalable, modern systems, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing DevOps and system administration teams.
  • Own the end-to-end DevOps strategy across XTM’s product suite, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and release management.
  • Oversee operations across multiple cloud and hosting environments, ensuring consistent performance and availability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to evolve and transform our operations to the next level of reliability and scalability.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in security, automation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Champion cost optimization, capacity planning, and future scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, security standards, and industry best practices.
  • Lead incident response and postmortem processes, ensuring continuous learning and improvement.
  • Define and track KPIs for infrastructure reliability and other key metrics.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including cloud providers and DevOps tooling platforms.
  • You will be responsible for helping improve Reliability, Scalability, Security, and Operations of our SaaS platform.

Well-versed in cloud tools, concepts, and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Help break down monolithic systems and build microservices that are scalable and maintainable.
  • Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS (or similar), following best practices around security, scalability, and availability.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality software in rapid, iterative sprints.
  • Work on modernizing legacy systems and help introduce new frameworks or languages when needed.
  • Write clean, testable code across a varied tech stack, and stay open to learning new tools and technologies.
  • Take ownership of your work with a practical, solution-first mindset.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture that focuses on solving problems together.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and CI/CD pipelines.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
  • Experience working with AWS or other major cloud providers like Azure or GCP.
  • A track record of breaking down monoliths into microservices or working with service-oriented architectures.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go, C#).
  • Experience delivering production-ready software and managing its lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker. 
  • A collaborative mindset with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-changing environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with event-driven systems or tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Infrastructure as code is a plus.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Exposure to canary releases or progressive deployment strategies.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or public code repositories.
