We’re looking for a Commercial Trader to join our team in, Poeldijk, Netherlands.

Role Summary

Responsible selling a large range of fruits and vegetables within the Dutch and European market, contributing to the company's commercial growth. Customer development, and market analysis.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel within the Netherlands and Europe may be required to visit suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Sell a Wide Range of Fresh Produce across Dutch and European markets with a strong product portfolio.
• Stay Ahead of the Market by tracking trends and competitor activity to seize opportunities and manage risks.
• Boost Profitability through smart trading strategies, price optimisation, and stock control.
• Develop New Business and grow the customer base through strategic sales and relationship building.
• Leverage Westfalia’s Product Range while exploring innovative, value-added offerings.
• Lead Market Pricing by analysing trends and competitor rates to shape profitable pricing strategies.
• Deliver Outstanding Customer Service by understanding individual client needs and offering tailored solutions.
• Ensure Smooth Operations through inventory management and proactive issue resolution in the supply chain.
• Monitor & Report on sales, stock levels, and procurement to support data-driven decisions.
• Maintain High Standards by following all health, safety, and compliance regulations.

Requirements

Experience we look for:

Essential

• Proven experience in selling fresh produce, ideally exotics and vegetables.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

Desirable

• Experience in the Dutch or European market.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software.
• Fluency in Dutch.
