The Communications Manager will play an integral role in building and managing the Communications function of the team. They will work with the Head of Media & PR to build a year-long strategy to position The Cadillac Formula 1® Team within the Formula 1® and wider media landscape according to its communications strategy. Working closely with team management and drivers, the Communications Manager will identify storylines and create proactive opportunities to continually push The Cadillac Formula 1® Team up the media agenda.

  • Work with the Head of Media & PR to shape a year-long narrative within sporting media
  • Generate content ideas to achieve coverage within consumer & broadcast media to drive awareness of The Cadillac Formula 1® Team outside the Formula 1® press
  • Coordinate media plans for each race, working with team drivers and personnel to ensure feasibility and effective use of time
  • Respond to day-to-day media questions quickly according to team brief and contribute to drafting media facing materials, e.g. press kits, press releases, etc.
  • Highlight and escalate topics where appropriate to team spokespersons
  • Liaison with social media & marketing teams to enable engaging content for the team’s social media channels

What do you need to bring to the team?

  • Excellent media contacts, ideally within motorsport or sport
  • Great interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure, with a cool head
  • Ability to write engaging content for media appeal and spot & generate a story
  • Flexible approach to work and travel; your presence at the majority, if not all, races on the Formula 1® calendar will be required
  • Languages would be an advantage
