ActionAid Hellas is looking for a Computer Class Facilitaror for a short term and part time role in our Community Center at Kolonos.

The aim of the role is to facilitate computer courses for adults in ActionAid Hellas Community Centre according to the community development approach and contribute to proper networking and referral process for the beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate computer courses, aiming at empowering and improving beneficiaries’ PC literacy
  • Design instruction and implementation of lesson plans
  • Preparation of teaching material
  • Assess different educational needs and form proper groups accordingly
  • Provide beneficiaries with differentiated instructions according to their level of skills and experiences and facilitate tailor-made learning approaches, based on their needs
  • Apply effective classroom management and conflict resolution strategies
  • Apply equality in the classroom and provide students with proper support for a better learning experience
  • Develop and enhance studying skills
  • Select and propose the students who are ready to take exams for the certification
  • Act as an ActionAid Ambassador
  • Ensure that the implementation of activities is absolutely aligned with ActionAid’s accountability principles
  • Work effectively in cross functional projects to identify and implement milestone actions where necessary
  • Support other organization’s priority activities, when necessary

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification in a related field
  • At least 1 year of working experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and facilitating groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills
  • Creative approach and innovation, aiming to cultivate learning motivation
  • Analytical thinking
  • Ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment
  • Excellent use (both oral & written) of Greek and English language
  • Very good understanding of human rights, global poverty & development issues
