The Cost Engineer supports the financial management of projects by assisting in cost estimating, control, and reporting activities. This mid-level role collaborates with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting, contributing to the effective delivery of project objectives within approved financial parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor actual costs against budgets, identify variances, and support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Assist in preparing cost reports, cash flow projections, and financial summaries for internal and client reporting.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, and procurement teams to integrate cost and schedule data.
- Support change management by assessing cost impacts of variations and maintaining change logs.
- Track and report on commitments, expenditures, and remaining project allowances.
- Maintain cost control systems and ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Participate in risk reviews and support cost contingency assessments.
- Ensure compliance with internal cost management procedures and client requirements.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement in cost engineering practices.
Requirements
Certified Cost Technician (CCT) with AACE International
Related Experience
5 - 7 years practical experience in the construction
And
3 years Nuclear Power Plant or similar
