Role Definition

The Manager, Demand & Orders is a strategic leadership role within the Supply Chain and Logistics function, responsible for managing and stabilizing supply and demand across the facility. This position plays a critical role in aligning production schedules, inventory levels, and customer demand through the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and this position is responsible for supplier and first operations scheduling and inventory level process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with multiple functions, such as manufacturing, product group, marketing, material planning etc., to acquire appropriate requirements to meet customer demand.

  • Managing day-to-day activities of their staff; participating in interviewing, hiring, and training and development of associates.

  • Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Develop improved policies and procedures to strengthen compliance initiatives.

  • Participating in planning inventory and defining optimal inventory levels and adjustment authority; monitoring inventory levels.

  • Coordinate with Global Supplier Constraint Management to optimize scheduling.

  • Responsible for S&OP process and follow-up with customers and facility wise.

Production Scheduling:

  • Ensure production schedules maintain demand integrity and product availability.

  • Prepare scheduling proposals for special situations (e.g., strikes, plant shutdowns).

First Operations

  • Coordinating with first operations management team and nesting group on scheduling workload for all the internal work centers and doing recommendations for subcontract process.

Operational Functions:

Demand Forecasting Analyzing sales history, market trends, and marketing strategies to develop accurate forecasts for future demand.

Inventory & Production Planning Creating Schedules for production and managing inventory levels to meet anticipated demand and avoid shortages or excess stock.

Order Management Processing Customer Orders, Tracking their status, and managing the flow from Order to Delivery.

Supplier & Logistic Management Collaborating with supply base, managing relationships with caterpillar subsidiaries and assuring timely delivery of materials.

Process Optimization> Evaluating and improving supply chain process. Implementing new tools and assuring standard operating procedures are up to date and effective.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. Level Working Knowledge:

Contributes to short-term operational plans.

Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.

Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives.

Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.

Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility.

Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Level Working Knowledge:

Employs process flows, cycle time, process time and waste concepts as appropriate.

Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies and hand-offs for a specific process.

Creates process flow or work flow diagrams.

Documents types of process decisions and potential impact of each decision.

Identifies and monitors common process bottlenecks.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Level Extensive Experience:

Breaks tasks into manageable steps that can be incorporated into a personal work plan.

Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes. Level Working Knowledge:

Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.

Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.

Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.

Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products.

Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.

Top Candidates must have:

  • Bachelor degree

  • Experience 10 years of experience on supply Chain or logistics processes

  • Experience in leadership with people under supervision (verifiable in interview).

  • Knowledge CPIM, APICS certification, LEAN.

  • English: Advanced

  • Availability to travel 20% USA VISA available.
