Role Overview:
To support the Soft Services Manager in meeting daily delivery needs across the required service areas. This individual will assist in the management the wider site team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, security and maintenance services are provided at all times.
This will encompass the management of day-to-day delivery across the site, oversight of the wider site team, site-level HR and resourcing management, shift and roster management, H&S management, budgetary management, performance management and compliance management.
This individual will also act as the primary site-lead in the Services Manager’s absence, such as in the event of holiday, or sickness, as well as other unexpected absence.
Key responsibilities
· To share responsibility for the management of the site with the Services Manager, including service delivery oversight, budget maintenance, continuous improvement, recruitment/resourcing and customer relationship management
· To liaise closely with the wider site team to provide full operational support and guidance
· To provide direct support during problematic situations, issues or emergencies in order to identify prevailing issues and rectify these, ensuring no drop in service quality or disruption
· To be involved in the monthly report and review process, including carrying out daily inspections and weekly audits
· To be a key point of escalation within the site team
· To offer support to the wider account management team and identify problematic areas within the operations process and be pro-active in addressing and rectifying these areas.
· To maintain the service delivery goals in terms of quality, productivity and profitability.
· To carry out regular meetings with the site team and customer representatives
· To be the acting site manager when the Services Manager is on holiday or is otherwise absent
· To support in the training, development and mentoring of the wider site team
Required skills & experience
· Detailed knowledge of cleaning & security delivery, preferably within retail environments
· Proven people-management experience
· Minimum 2/3 years’ operational management experience
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Fluent / business-level English
· Strong organisational and time-management skills
· Problem solving capabilities
· IT Literate (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)
· SIA licence (desired)
· Cleaning training e.g. City & Guilds or BICSc (desired)
· M&E awareness / training e.g. City & Guilds (desired)
