Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to join our Digital Commerce engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in cloud-based technology and will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native microservices and CI/CD pipelines on AWS. This role is responsible for leading the development and automation of cloud technologies, ensuring high-quality software testing, and managing infrastructure as code. You will also mentor junior developers and contribute to the optimization of development and deployment processes across global e-commerce platforms.

Requirements

• Cloud Solution Development:
• Lead the development and implementation of cloud-based technology solutions using Java Spring Boot and related technologies.
• Contribute to the design and development of cloud-native microservices that power our global e-commerce platform.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management:
• Design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools like ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure deployments of microservices.
• Automate processes and build self-serve offerings to accelerate deployment to production.
• Testing & Debugging:
• Conduct regular testing, debugging, and quality assurance reviews to ensure the reliability and security of cloud applications.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Act as a subject matter expert for coding languages and solution design within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and improve processes.
• Document solutions, and conduct knowledge transfer activities to enhance team expertise.
• Mentorship & Leadership:
• Lead and mentor other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote technical growth.
• Guide the team toward achieving project goals and aligning solutions with business objectives.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Technical Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering roles, with a focus on AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Java Spring Boot-based microservices in a cloud-native architecture using Istio Service Mesh for managing service-to-service communication, traffic routing, and security within Kubernetes clusters.
• 3+ years of experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (experience with ArgoCD a plus).
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, service mesh technologies, and API design.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills to guide and influence team members toward achieving common goals.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and proactively seek solutions.
• Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and manage complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications:
• Certifications in AWS, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering are highly desirable.
• Industry Experience:
• Experience working on e-commerce platforms and platform modernization projects.
• Background in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus.
