Director, Portfolio & Performance (PMO Lead)
Are you a strategic leader, skilled at transforming projects and programs into success stories? We're looking for a Director, Portfolio & Performance (PMO Lead) to join our Federal Government client for an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension. This is a critical role where you'll be instrumental in shaping the portfolio, driving key initiatives, and optimising performance.

What You'll Do:
As the Director, you'll be the operational heart of their Portfolio & Performance section. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the section's day-to-day operations ensuring goals are achieved in a timely manner.
- Portfolio Management: Develop and maintain frameworks, investments, lead collaboration with senior executives on new initiatives, and manage a prioritised project roadmap.
- Performance Reporting: Oversee the tracking and reporting of project portfolio performance, providing a clear, real-time view of all projects, including expenditure, risks, and issues.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of managers and analysts, fostering a high-performing culture that aligns with the Agency core values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic advice and managing relationships to align on expectations and advance organisational interests.
What You'll Bring:
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in providing strategic leadership and professional expertise in portfolio, program, and project management.
- Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as health, project management, or experience in an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) within a government environment.
- Certification: Certification in a project management methodology such as Prince2, PMBOK, MSP, or Agile.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to solve complex problems, manage sensitive matters, and make balanced, informed decisions.
Proven Track Record: Experience in leading transformational projects and programs, managing tight deadlines, budget constraints, and competing priorities.
Clearance: Active Baseline or higher.
