About the team:

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to join our Product team, with a focus on owning and scaling new product initiatives. This leader will focus on new category expansion, including strategy for our current debit product as well as future lending products, with the goal of building deeper, long-term relationships with our members.

This is not a traditional product role focused solely on features and delivery. We’re looking for someone who approaches product as a business to be grown, with accountability for outcomes, strategy, and long-term member value. You will be responsible for driving performance, making data-driven decisions, and ensuring products deliver measurable impact for both our customers and the company.

Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience in fintech, with a track record of launching and scaling debit or lending products in the U.S. market. You will bring a balance of strategic vision and executional rigor: able to translate insights into roadmaps, dig into metrics to optimize performance, and build alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.

This role requires both leadership and closeness to the work. While managing and coaching PMs, you will also lead squads of designers, engineers, analysts, and marketers - setting direction, clearing roadblocks, and ensuring the business moves forward.

This is an opportunity to own product lines with true accountability - building not just new features, but new businesses within a product-first company.

What you'll do:

  • Set the vision, deliver the results: You’ll be responsible for Checking/Debit Accounts & New Products P&Ls. You’ll develop and champion a vision that spans from the next 3 months to 3 years - making crisp quarterly bets while also driving longer-term initiatives that unlock deeper daily engagement and profitable growth.

  • Ship with speed and conviction: Lead two product squads through discovery, delivery, and in-market optimization - ensuring fast execution without losing sight of long-term impact.

  • Own the numbers: Take full accountability for product performance and translate metrics into clear narratives that guide adjacent product and marketing teams. Measure rigorously, surface insights in business reviews, and drive action when the data calls for it.

  • Enable flawless execution: Act as the connective tissue across Engineering, Risk, Marketing, Finance, sponsor banks/networks, etc. — ensuring alignment on priorities, clarity on plans, and efficient execution toward business outcomes.

  • Coach and amplify talent: Uplevel PMs, designers, and analysts by embedding Dave’s values of Transparency and Better Together into how teams operate and collaborate.

  • Build a culture of evidence: Establish experimentation and analytics frameworks that turn millions of daily swipes into insights — enabling decisions that grow LTV and raise member NPS.

  • Invent tomorrow’s products: Explore and validate new product opportunities, using learnings to inform a 3-month to 3-year product strategy that balances quick wins with bold bets - with the potential to expand scope and team as new products scale.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years in product management within consumer fintech, including 4+ years leading PMs or multi-disciplinary squads.

  • Proven track record launching and scaling a debit or credit card program, as well as shipping net-new products (0 → 1 → scale) with measurable business impact.

  • Builder’s DNA - equally comfortable shaping whiteboard strategy and rolling up your sleeves in backlog refinement.

  • High degree of ownership and agency - a self-starter with high standards who learns fast and pushes for progress.

  • Cross-functional leadership skills, with a history of aligning diverse stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and external partners.

  • Executive-ready communicator, able to simplify complex data and influence C-suite leaders, regulators, and network partners.

  • Analytical hunter mindset - proficient with SQL and analytical tools (Python/R a plus), skilled at digging into large datasets and visualizations to uncover opportunities and drive decisions.

  • AI-driven curiosity - fluent in applying AI to real product work beyond the basics (e.g., idea generation, data analysis, workflow automation), with the instinct to make teams and leaders smarter through creative AI use cases.

  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to cut through noise, recognize signals, and act decisively.

  • Technical curiosity and fluency; a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a plus.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Impact at scale. Your work will shape the financial lives of millions of members, helping them access fair, transparent products instead of predatory alternatives.

  • Greenfield to grow. This is true 0 → 1 work: exploring white space, launching new products, and scaling them into lasting businesses. You’ll have both the freedom to experiment and the backing to make bets that matter.

  • Ownership with accountability. You’ll run products like businesses — owning outcomes, driving P&L performance, and translating insights into growth strategies.

  • Smarter with AI. We expect every product leader to be AI-driven — using new tools not just for efficiency, but to make the whole team and company smarter.

  • True partnership. At Dave, product leaders sit shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering, design, data, and business leaders to solve problems that matter. You won’t just hand off a roadmap, you’ll shape it with your peers.
