The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment. They ensure that the kitchen and dishwashing area is clean, safe, and organized at all times.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Dishwashing and Cleaning:
    • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
    • Ensure all cleaned items are properly sanitized and stored.
  2. Kitchen Sanitation:
    • Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and dish machines.
    • Regularly remove trash and recycling from kitchen and dish areas.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and surfaces as needed.
  3. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Monitor dishwashing machines for proper operation.
    • Report any malfunctions or maintenance issues to the kitchen manager or supervisor.
  4. Team Support:
    • Assist kitchen staff with basic food prep or other tasks during busy periods.
    • Work collaboratively with chefs, line cooks, and other staff members to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
  5. Compliance and Safety:
    • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
    • Wear proper protective equipment and adhere to hygiene standards.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good physical stamina; must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
  • No formal education required, but previous kitchen or restaurant experience is a plus.
