Job summary:

The Large Power System Division currently seeking an EHS Specialist to serve as an individual contributor on the Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance.

What you will do:

  • Conduct environmental assessments and audits.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve environmental incidents and complaints.
  • Ensure environmental training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Collect and analyze environmental data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to processes for waste characterization, labeling, signing of hazardous waste manifests.
  • Identify potential environmental risks in new processes or changes to current processes.

Skills you must have:

  • Extensive experience in EHS policy compliance; to include policy design and implementation. Demonstrated achievement in ensuring the products and services we provide are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with all legal requirements and standards.
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Overcoming Resistance to Change: Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategies; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Environmental certifications (i.e., CHMM, HAZWOPER, CEM)
  • Environmental related college degrees

Additional Information:

  • Travel requirements may be less than 10%.
  • This position is located in Griffin, GA and will require 5 day’s onsite per week.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
