Electrical Maintenance & Reliability Manager

We’re seeking a hands-on Electrical Maintenance & Reliability Manager to drive safety, quality, and reliability in our Charleston facility by coaching a team of electrical automation technicians and optimizing maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Champion OSHA-compliant practices and environmental standards across all electrical operations.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and develop 6 Electrical Automation Technicians in preventive and corrective maintenance, TPM, and troubleshooting.
- Maintenance Planning: Partner with the Electrical Planner/Scheduler to build and maintain PM/PdM schedules, ensure on-time execution, and plan electrical support for outages.
- Reliability Engineering: Implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies, identify critical spares, and lead root-cause analyses on equipment failures.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage departmental budgets, track expenses, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Technical Documentation: Oversee accuracy of AutoCAD (or equivalent) drawings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), and electrical schematics.
- Vendor & OEM Liaison: Serve as primary contact for OEMs and external engineering partners on installations, service agreements, and technical escalations.
- Project Execution: Drive electrical projects from greenfield builds to retrofits using project management best practices and TPM methodologies.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- 8+ years in a manufacturing environment (preferably heavy-industry
- 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing maintenance or technical teams
- Hands-On Skills:
- Proven PLC programming and troubleshooting (prefer experience with Siemens and Rockwell platforms)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (Wonderware or similar)
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical expertise (nice to have)
- Expertise: Demonstrated background in preventive & corrective electrical maintenance and reliability engineering
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and time-management abilities; commitment to continuous improvement and team development
