Role Summary:
Aftermarket Design Engineer located in Mossville Illinois. Responsibility to support Aftermarket Enhancement product development for E&T as well as Vehicle Systems projects. Designs, develops, builds, and implements new components, products, or technologies. Products produced by this group are primarily electronic in content but often require mounting and packaging considerations to be designed as well. Product includes electronic controls consisting of standard Caterpillar Electronic Control Modules with software modifications as well as custom designed modules for specialized applications. Electrical harnesses are designed for use with Products to provide interconnectivity between control elements as well as the targeted machine. As a Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn from and contribute to a cooperative team in the design of new products.


Responsibilities

  • Responsibility in design development, validation, and release of electronic systems for the Aftermarket Enhancement Products
  • Responsible for activities including project ideation, design concepts, FMEAs, design development activities, validation plans, and visits to other Caterpillar facilities and customer sites as needed.
  • Develop multiple aftermarket product projects at a time with many projects completing within less than one year.
  • Provide development for Engineering skills as well as offering opportunities to improve your business acumen for other commercial aspects of customers, suppliers, and internal distribution and Aftermarket business elements.

  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Top candidates will have:

  • Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical design and development strength
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, troubleshooting, installations, or maintenance.
  • Previous experience in Pro/E or Creo modeling and simulation tools
  • Highly skilled at using common office software and strong documentation practices
  • Experience with Environmental validation, EMC testing, Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Progressive electrical & electronics development in an engineering role relating to at least some of the following: engine systems, machine control systems, generator set control, component development and system integration.

  • This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
