Join Caterpillar’s Compact Track Loader Growth team within the Building Construction Products division as an Engineer focused on Chassis systems. This team is responsible for designing light fabrications, tanks, and hydraulic lines for Compact Track Loader machines. You’ll contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and product maintenance efforts, collaborating with a global team in the US, India, and Mexico.

What You Will Do:

  • Design and development of Chassis systems for future Compact Track Loader products.
  • Create and release detailed engineering drawings to support NPI and CPI initiatives.
  • Drive issue resolution by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with global design partners to validate and refine product designs.
  • Monitor and support machine assembly evaluations, endurance, and testing with a hands-on approach.
  • Partner with suppliers and purchasing teams for component development and sourcing.
  • Provide factory support and contribute to product maintenance activities.
  • Communicate and present technical results to internal teams and external stakeholders.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams, including suppliers and customers, in both virtual and on-site environments.
  • Technical Excellence: Foundational understanding of mechanical systems and design principles, with a willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on engineering environment.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Ability to support issue resolution by applying basic engineering knowledge and working with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to approach problems logically, analyze data, and contribute to the development of practical solutions.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Strong track record of effective supplier interaction.
  • Experience in non-metallic tank and light fabrication design.
  • NPI and/or CPI experience.

Additional Info:

  • Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel: This role involves up to 10% travel, both domestically and internationally. Depending on project requirements, travel to supplier and customer locations, as well as other Caterpillar facilities may be necessary.
  • Relocation: Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
