ABOUT THE ROLE

Our team uses a mix of open source, SaaS, and internally developed tools and processes to manage and support our SCADA software product lifecycle — including deployment, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and optimization — across a fleet of thousands of on-premises devices and multiple public and private cloud Kubernetes clusters.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Perform and automate deployment, maintenance, and upgrades across a fleet of servers and devices
  • Maintain live microservices-based applications by monitoring performance indicators such as availability, throughput, and latency
  • Grow systems by advocating for changes that enhance reliability, performance, and serviceability
  • Collaborate with development teams to support microservices across diverse deployment environments (cloud and on-prem)
  • Work with technologies like Kubernetes (GKE, k3s), Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Mosquitto, Redis, Ansible, Kafka, LAMP, Git, GCE, RHEL
  • Maintain production flows and continuous deployment processes for software and infrastructure systems at scale

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

We believe you enjoy working in a purpose-driven organization and thrive in a fast-changing environment where creativity and problem-solving are key. You are capable of managing multiple tasks of varying complexity and committed to continuous learning and improvement. We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with the following toolkit:

Essential technical and soft skills:

  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes operations and containerized environments
  • 5+ years of experience working with Linux, including command line, scripting, and services
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and ability to work independently while delivering high-quality results

Highly appreciated skills:

  • Hands-on experience with IP networking, including hardware (routers, switches) and Linux services (DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPNs, etc.)
  • Experience with RHEL and variants (CentOS, ALMA Linux, Rocky)
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
  • Application deployment experience in Java, Go, or Python

Nice to have:

  • Professional Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD)
  • A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with SRE practices
  • Experience working in remote-first teams
  • Experience with cloud environments (especially private cloud or GCP)
  • Strong documentation habits and a drive to improve systems and cross-team collaboration
  • A curious mindset and ability to troubleshoot issues down to their root causes
  • Preference for reliable, repeatable solutions over quick fixes
  • Technically grounded opinions without dogmatic bias
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and face steep learning curves when needed
