Engineering Group Lead

  • Responsible to the VP of Integrated Solutions Group for engineering standardization, process improvement, and engineering workforce development
  • Support multidisciplinary engineering across KIHOMAC, including mechanical, structural, electrical, software and systems engineering
  • Work with the Director of Program Management to ensure the KIHOMAC engineering infrastructure supports program execution needs and goals
  • Participate in an engineering council consisting of the lead engineer from each of the KIHOMAC business units to allocate the development of practices and processes
  • Identify and lead the implementation of engineering best practices
  • Support engineering inputs to company critical certifications and audits, to include AS9100, Nadcap, CMMI, and CMMC
  • Provide technical recommendations to program and business leaders on program execution and research & development projects
  • Consult on engineering qualifications for new hires as requested by hiring managers, participate in the hiring process and interviews as required
  • Manage team resource allocation, task distribution, and planning to support current and forecasted programs
  • Ensure the engineering team contributes to business development requirements, providing timely, quality inputsMake recommendations on the rotation or assignment of engineers across the company
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required
  • Master’s Degree preferred  

Experience:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in the required task area  

Security:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
