The Internal Compute organization at Snowflake is dedicated to delivering world-class compute platforms that empower Snowflake engineers to build innovative products for our customers.

The Container Platform, within this organization, is a foundational and critical component, underpinning a wide range of internal and customer-facing services across all clouds Snowflake operates on. This rapidly expanding compute platform is crucial for Snowflake's business agility, enabling swift new product development, seamless M&A integration, and efficient scaling into new cloud regions.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and expand our team in Warsaw. This pivotal role will be instrumental in delivering mission-critical platform features, directly enabling new business opportunities for Snowflake.

In this role, you will be responsible for strategically expanding our organizational capabilities, driving product development and execution, owning key technical domains, and providing exceptional leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition & Development: Attract and recruit top-tier engineering talent, and provide mentorship and coaching to foster long-term career growth for team members.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with product, security, and engineering teams across various time zones to translate product requirements into clear and actionable technical roadmaps.

  • Performance & Delivery: Define precise success metrics for your assigned technical areas and lead the team to consistently deliver projects that meet or exceed these metrics.

  • Strategic Prioritization: Understand and balance competing priorities, making informed decisions that optimize between technical debt resolution and the development of new features.

  • Technical Leadership: Actively participate in technical design reviews and significantly influence the technical direction of the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive Software Engineering Experience: 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in distributed systems.

  • Proven Engineering Management: 3+ years of demonstrated engineering management experience, specifically within infrastructure or platform teams.

  • Track Record of Success: A proven history of scaling teams, successfully delivering complex projects, and fostering strong partnerships.

  • Effective Cross-regional Relationship Management: Proven ability to deliver results while working with geographically dispersed teams.

  • Cloud Platform Expertise: Experience working with at least one of major cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interactions.

  • Quality-Centric Approach: A strong commitment to delivering products with exceptional quality, performance, and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Container Orchestration: Hands-on development experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes is a significant advantage.
