Caterpillar is seeking an Engineering Team Leader within the Motor Grader Engineering Electrical Integration Team in Earthmoving Division. In this dynamic position, you will lead a talented team of engineers, guiding them through New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our products meet and exceed expectations in terms of scope, quality, speed, and cost across various machine platforms. What You Will Do:

  • Act as design control owner delegate, resolving any engineering-related questions related to parts within design control.
  • Empower, coach, and lead a team of engineers, fostering their growth and knowledge in product development and customer needs.
  • Deliver smooth project execution with respect to requirements including time, cost, and quality and when necessary, escalating problems to leaders or impacted areas.
  • Monitor and continuously improve product development processes utilizing lean principles.
  • Play a key role in shaping the multi-generational product strategy, aligning program scope with long-term goals for sustained success.
  • Spearhead and coordinate essential collaboration within the value stream to proactively mitigate risks, manage costs, and resolve issues.
  • Manage self-development, continuously learning through experience, an understanding the customers’ needs and application of the product or process, as well as keeping up with technology.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • Technical Excellence: Candidate must have strong analytical skills and capability to execute engineering process and tools, such as DFMEA, APQP, Creo and TeamCenter. Incumbent will develop and provide solutions for significant technical issues related to quality, velocity, and cost objectives.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to perform complex assignments, prioritize workload, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills are required. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
  • Project Design and Development: Extensive knowledge of construction products and demonstrated ability to execute product development design processes and knowledge and adherence to standards.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information and solutions with internal and external stakeholders.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Demonstrated skills around managing vision and purpose, decision quality, and negotiating.
  • Demonstrated skills in technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value management.
  • Strong knowledge of Motor Graders Products.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical integration design.

Additional Info:

  • Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Travel: 10% domestic and international travel is expected.
  • Relocation: Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
