Job Title: ETL Tester

Location: Poland (Permanent Employment), work model: hybrid.


About the Role
As an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Tester, you'll be instrumental in ensuring accurate, reliable, and high-performing data pipelines across systems. Your work will help maintain data integrity, ensure high-quality analytics, and empower data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ETL test cases and strategies
• Perform source-to-target data validation for completeness and accuracy
• Validate transformation logic and verify business rule mapping
• Conduct data quality checks and anomaly detection
• Automate ETL testing using scripting languages
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineers, developers, analysts)
• Log and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, or TestRail
• Document test plans, results, and audit artifacts
• Participate in performance and volume testing
• Ensure data governance and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA)
• Support CI/CD workflows by integrating ETL tests into pipelines

Must-Have Skills

Requirements

SQL & Querying - Strong SQL for complex source-to-target validations
ETL Tools-Experience with Informatica, IDMC
Data Modeling - Understanding of dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas)
Scripting - Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation
Data Profiling - Knowledge of tools for quality checks and profiling
Integration & Governance - Understanding of business rules and compliance standards
Test Tools - Experience with JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail, Zephyr
Comparison Automation - Familiarity with QuerySurge, Datagaps
Cloud Knowledge - Basic understanding of Azure data services
Performance Testing - Validating ETL performance under high-volume scenarios
CI/CD Integration - Experience integrating tests in automated deployment workflows

Nice-to-Haves
• Hands-on experience with Azure services
• Several years in ETL testing or data quality assurance
• Certifications in ETL tools or cloud platforms
• Exposure to big data tech like Hadoop, Spark
