Job Description Summary

At Caterpillar, we build more than machines - we build a better world. As a Facilities Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the infrastructure that powers our manufacturing operations. From routine maintenance to first-line troubleshooting, you’ll ensure our plant facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform or assist in routine maintenance, repairs, and construction work across plant facilities.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and infrastructure components.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for building service issues and work requests.
  • Support facility engineers and collaborate with manufacturing and related departments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Participate in space planning, equipment setup, and building security processes.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Effective Communication: Ability to adapt communication styles, provide feedback, and collaborate across teams.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in identifying root causes, synthesizing information, and leading resolution efforts.
  • Project Management: Working knowledge of planning, estimating, and tracking simple projects.
  • Construction Engineering & Technology: Basic understanding of tools, standards, and methods used in construction and facilities engineering.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Familiarity with installation, maintenance, and repair processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Facilities Management: Extensive experience managing plant infrastructure, safety, and environmental systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Proven ability to resolve high-impact equipment and systems issues using advanced techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
