Job Title: Finance Business Partner – Aftermarket Revenue

Salary: £40,000 + Dependent upon experience

Location: Peterborough, UK

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary

This is role is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse Finance function closely supporting the Aftermarket Sales and Commercial organization.

Aftermarket Sales and Services is a core focus of Caterpillar’s strategy, with the bold goal to double services sales from the 2016 baseline by 2026. This role helps support the Industrial Power Systems Division team’s efforts towards this company wide goal.

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office

What You Will Do

  • Key Business Partner to the Aftermarket Sales and Commercial Organisation, providing both reporting and insights on customer/product revenue and margin

  • Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and internal control requirements

  • Create the Revenue Annual Business Plan and quarterly forecasts based on inputs from the Sales organisation

  • Support the Business on implementing discount programmes

  • Calculate and communicate the customer year over year price changes and product mix impacts

  • Continuous improvement of reporting to enhance business insights and process efficiency

What You Have

  • Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritising and time allocation.

  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse teams across Finance and Global Operations.

  • Comfortable presenting to senior leaders of the business.

Ideally, you will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Experienced Finance Business Partner

  • Fully Qualified or Part Qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience

  • High-level Excel and systems literacy

  • Very strong at analysing large data sets and summarising conclusions to provide insights to management

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry or at a global organisation is desirable but not essential
