Valsoft is looking for a Finance Manager to join our team in the United Kingdom.

This Role Goes Beyond Traditional Finance—it's About

  • Strategic Thought Partnership: Uncovering data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making, not just reporting on numbers and KPIs
  • Driving Value: Identifying ways to optimize business operations, improve margins, and create scalable financial processes.
  • Technology & AI: Exploring and implementing AI-driven tools, automation, and analytics to improve financial reporting and business efficiency.
  • Business Operations: Working closely with operational teams to refine workflows, improve cash management, and ensure efficient financial systems.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Strategic Financial Management

  • Monitor and analyze portfolio company performance to drive strategic decisions.
  • Develop KPI frameworks to assess financial health and identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews for senior leadership.
  • Ensure positive cash flow and long-term profitability across portfolio companies.
  • Work closely with M&A teams on due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Oversee financial close processes, including reporting and compliance.
  • Ensure statutory and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Establish financial internal controls and process optimization strategies.
  • Lead the implementation of NetSuite ERP and other automation initiatives.

Technology & Process Innovation

  • Champion AI, automation, and workflow tools to improve finance functions.
  • Identify and implement new financial technologies to streamline reporting and enhance decision-making.
  • Leverage data analytics for predictive financial modeling.

M&A & Financial Integration

  • Develop financial onboarding plans for newly acquired businesses.
  • Ensure alignment of acquired companies’ accounting policies with Valsoft standards.
  • Support valuation, purchase price allocation, and deferred payment calculations.
  • Establish scalable reporting and governance frameworks post-acquisition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, (CPA or CFA is an asset).
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A (Big 4 or consulting firm experience is a plus).
  • Prior exposure to M&A, financial integrations is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of different ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and business technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and the office suite.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
