At Oceans, we believe that talent knows no boundaries. That’s why we connect the best and brightest professionals with career-defining opportunities that challenge, inspire, and accelerate their career growth. And in doing so, they don’t just support bold ideas - they expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers.

We’re hiring an eCommerce Manager to partner with our client, who operates a portfolio of eCommerce brands with a focus on high-quality home goods, including Rough Linen and Snowe Home. This role is operationally intensive, requiring proactive ownership of day-to-day eCommerce workflows while coordinating across customer service, 3PL logistics, Shopify backend, and production teams distributed across the US, India, and the Philippines.

If you are highly organized, thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, and communicate clearly across international time zones, this role is designed for you.

Accountability

As an eCommerce Manager, your success will be measured by your ability to ensure operational accuracy, maintain seamless order flows, and proactively identify and resolve issues that impact customer experience and backend operations. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

eCommerce Platform Management

  • Maintain and update product listings, pricing, and inventory levels on Shopify (or similar platforms like Magento/WooCommerce).
  • Execute sales and promotions, including tagging, scheduling, and QA to ensure flawless campaigns.
  • Perform basic merchandising updates and content edits to keep storefronts current and accurate.

Order Fulfillment & Logistics

  • Liaise with 3PL partners (via Packiyo or similar tools) to manage fulfillment, cancellations, and stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory across warehouses, flagging out-of-stock risks promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely order modifications and resolution of operational issues impacting fulfillment.

Customer Experience Coordination

  • Serve as the coordination point between customer service teams and backend operations.
  • Keep service agents informed about order statuses, inventory, and any operational issues impacting customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues reported by the CX team promptly.

Production Communication

  • Interface daily with India-based production teams for order routing and fulfillment updates.
  • Maintain master Excel/Google Sheets to track order statuses and production activities.
  • Ensure clarity of handoffs between Shopify orders and production deliverables.

Reporting & Optimization

  • Generate and analyze eCommerce KPI reports, identifying operational bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively implement workflow optimizations to increase operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership with visibility on ongoing activities and highlight areas requiring intervention.

Colleagues

You’ll work directly with the Founder and Head of Operations, and work with other stakeholders on various projects, as necessary.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals - those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As an eCommerce Manager, your vertical strength will be in eCommerce platform operations, while your horizontal interests may include reporting, cross-team coordination, and process improvement.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English with clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in eCommerce operations or management, preferably across multi-SKU product lines.
  • Platform Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms (Magento, WooCommerce). Knowledge of 3PL/inventory platforms like Packiyo or similar tools would be an added advantage.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for reporting and tracking; familiarity with Packiyo or similar tools, CRM/helpdesk tools, email marketing tools, and Slack-first workflows is a plus. Able to use tools such as Klaviyo and Figma would be an added advantage.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage product catalogs and order flows accurately.
  • Communication: Comfort working asynchronously and across international time zones.
  • Ownership: Self-starter who thrives in high-trust, low-supervision environments, proactively flagging issues and solving problems.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Platform Management: How do you maintain and update large product catalogs accurately?
  • Order Fulfillment Coordination: How do you manage fulfillment workflows and respond to issues with 3PL partners?
  • Cross-Team Communication: How do you ensure customer service teams are aligned with backend operations?
  • Reporting: How do you generate and interpret operational reports to drive improvements?
  • Async Workflow Management: How do you manage your work and communication effectively across time zones?

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
