Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Define and implement a comprehensive AI and data strategy focused on enhancing urban governance and public service delivery.
2. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists and engineers, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
3. Design and implement data governance frameworks, architecture standards, and compliance protocols. Oversee the optimization of data infrastructure, including storage systems, pipelines, and processing workflows.
4. Develop and deploy impactful AI/ML solutions, ensuring they are effectively integrated, adopted, and scaled to deliver measurable value.
5. Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams to streamline data pipeline integration, model development, and deployment. Provide hands-on technical leadership to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
6. Drive innovation and operational efficiency in AI workflows. Propose novel approaches to harness diverse data sources, enhance model performance, and optimize end-to-end AI solution delivery.
7. Stay current with advancements in AI, ML, and data science. Evaluate emerging tools, platforms, and research to strengthen technical capabilities and improve governance systems.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, data science, and machine learning, with a strong track record of leading data-driven initiatives.
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in data and AI-focused projects.
• Expertise in handling large and complex datasets, including structured, unstructured, and geospatial data.
• Practical experience in developing and deploying AI models, including large language models (LLMs).
• Deep understanding of data governance practices, privacy policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Background or exposure to urban development or public sector systems is an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, deep learning technologies, and big data ecosystems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced understanding of data architecture, modeling, processing pipelines, and compliance requirements.
