About the role
As a Health & Clinical Consultant (Consulting Principal), you will make an impact by leading strategic engagements and shaping digital health solutions that improve clinical outcomes and patient experiences. You will be a valued member of our Public Sector & Health Consulting team, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and clients across the public and private healthcare sectors.
In this role, you will:
Lead and deliver high-impact consulting engagements across hospitals, government health departments, and private health providers.
Apply clinical expertise to inform solution design, product development, and transformation initiatives.
Drive product strategy and lifecycle management for digital health solutions, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and regulatory frameworks.
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor.
Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sydney or Melbourne. What you must have to be considered
Clinical background (e.g., medicine, nursing, allied health) with experience in clinical practice or clinical operations.
Proven experience in health product management, including strategy, design, and delivery of digital health solutions.
Strong consulting experience, ideally within a top-tier consulting firm or health-focused consultancy.
Deep understanding of the Australian healthcare ecosystem, including public and private health systems, funding models, and regulatory frameworks.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
These will help you succeed
Postgraduate qualifications in health administration, public health, business, or related fields.
Experience working with government health departments or large health service providers.
Familiarity with emerging health technologies (e.g., AI in healthcare, digital therapeutics, virtual care).
