Job Title: HR Business Partner

Salary: Starting from £39,994-£49,992
Location: Peterlee, County Durham

Job Purpose:
This role will support both the management and wider business in delivering HR services at Peterlee Facility. With extensive HR experience, you’ll bring a strong grasp of employment legislation, sound decision-making skills, and the confidence to constructively challenge and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation

Responsibilities include:

Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.

  • Support managers in handling employee issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

  • Ensure fair and consistent application of employment law and internal policies.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruitment processes, interviews, and offers.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure smooth integration of new hires.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.

  • Prepare contracts, letters, and documentation related to employment.

Policy Implementation

  • Support the rollout and communication of HR policies and initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Performance & Development

  • Assist in performance review processes and development planning.

  • Support training coordination and employee development initiatives.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Provide HR data and reports to support decision-making.

  • Monitor trends such as absence, turnover, and engagement.

Skills you will have

HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.
Level Working Knowledge

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyse situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Level Working Knowledge


Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.
Level Basic Understanding

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

Top Candidates will have

  • Experience in a HR role within Manufacturing

  • Experience working with Trade Unions

  • Degree, CIPD or equivalent experience (desired)

  • Quick to grasp new information and apply it effectively in dynamic environments.

Additional Information

  • Hours: Full Time - 36.50 at the Peterlee Facility

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 4.5 day week schedule in the office

  • Travel: Not associated with this Role
