Job Title: Human Resources Manager - Cat Defense
Salary: £55,516 + per annum dependent upon experience
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) has worldwide responsibility for the design and manufacturing of 0.5L-18L engines as well as worldwide responsibility for sales, support and marketing of industrial engines 0.5-64L and Caterpillar Defense. Job Summary
This role presents a fantastic opportunity based in the heart of Shrewsbury, which serves as the commercial center for Shropshire and mid-Wales, with easy transport links to Telford, Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool. Caterpillar Shrewsbury Limited (CSL) is responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, and integration of engines and drivetrain packages to meet the needs of tracked and wheeled products globally in support of several key allied military customers. CSL also provide remanufacturing services of industrial military engines, components, and transmissions.
As the site’s Human Resources Manager, you’ll be the senior HR leader responsible for providing day-to-day support to 250 production, salaried and management employees across all functions. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor and work together with the facility manager and local leadership team to create a positive culture and employee experience. You’ll lead a small team – and partner with other HR professionals in the division and the wider Caterpillar UK community – to design and implement programs and solutions for talent management, career and skills development, succession planning, leadership development, coaching, mentoring and business decisions.

What you will do
Collaborate with management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives
Align HR policies and programs to promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.
Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc.
Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations
Lead a team of HR professionals to collaborate effectively with other Centers of Excellence and serve as thought leaders to the business and HR
What you will have
Technical Excellence: HR qualification at degree level or equivalent relevant experience at a similar level.
Employee relations knowledge and experience, including ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations
Strong leadership skills; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
Experience building collaborative relationships and working across a matrix organization
Decision Making: Ability to make decisions and think critically, analyzing information and data to provide solutions to customer’s problems
Business Acumen: Robust business acumen, demonstrating an ability to apply business knowledge appropriately based on situation and align people needs to support business strategies
Influencing: Proven influencing skills
Innovation: Evidence showing ability to work with traditional and non-traditional/innovative approaches to HR
Top Candidates will also have
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
Previous pay negotiations experience
Previous experience leading and executing HR projects across multiple, global regions
Experience with Workday
