Join our client, a global industrial company with a rich history, dedicated to making life better through high-performance products and solutions. We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR and Payroll Officer to join our team in Dandenong South. This is a great temp-to-perm opportunity for a motivated professional with strong HR operations and payroll handling experience.


About the role

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role is a hybrid position that plays a crucial part in supporting the local HR team, and providing critical payroll support for a broader national workforce.

You’ll be:

  • Handling end-to-end payroll processing for a weekly payroll cycle, including coordinating with an external payroll provider.
  • Managing HR operational activities across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Managing Workers' Compensation processes, including claims, reporting, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Acting as a point of contact for employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
  • Providing generalist HR support, ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records in the HRIS and assisting with HR reporting.
  • Assisting with talent acquisition support as needed.

About you

An independent and adaptable professional with a background in an industrial setting. You'll have the skills and confidence to hit the ground running, as the manager travels frequently.

You'll have:

  • 3-5 years of combined HR and payroll experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in
    managing Workers' Compensation claims and reporting.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with an industrial background is preferred.
