Multiple roles available for skilled Industrial Painters for a unique role working as a Painter Blaster. In this role you will contribute to major Marine and Defence projects on Garden Island Sydney. The successful candidates will join a high-performing team delivering top-tier blasting and coating services across marine vessels, tank reef areas, structural steel, and other commercial assets.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise on a critical project within a unique atmosphere. Once on the island there are plenty of opportunities and potential for development across other areas.
Requirements:
- Federal Police Check
- White Card
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space Entry
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial painting - Marine painting, Steel/Metal painting and blasting experience is highly advantageous
The role:
- Surface prep using water blasting, sandblasting, mechanical tools, and needleguns
- Working on repair and maintenance tasks including climbing in and around pipes, underneath deck plates, and confined spaces
- Applying coatings via spray, brush, and roller
- Delivering high-quality results on tank reef structures and complex marine environments
- Meeting project specs and quality standards
- Complying with strict safety and site protocols
- Collaborating in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Comfortable working in tight, enclosed or elevated areas
- Strong skills in surface preparation and coating techniques
- High attention to detail and ability to follow technical specs
- Reliable, physically fit, and a strong team player
Highly Regarded but not required:
- DCAC (Defence Common Access Card)
- EWP Licence
- Cert III in Surface Preparation & Coating Application
- Mechanical prep experience
- Familiarity with International Paints
