We are looking for a Mid/Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our Group IT team in support of a key client within the banking sector.
In this role, you will work as part of Group IT Operations, contributing to the implementation of modern infrastructure solutions and ensuring the seamless delivery of IT services. The scope includes both on-premises and public cloud environments, with a focus on service continuity, infrastructure optimization, and compliance with high security standards.
This hands-on role involves direct collaboration with internal Group IT and the client’s local teams to deploy scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure solutions across distributed environments.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Lead the deployment and optimization of hybrid IT infrastructure (on-prem & Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Manage and support virtualization platforms, hypervisors, OS environments, and relational/no-SQL databases (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB)
- Design and operate container-based systems using OpenShift and Kubernetes
- Administer application servers (IIS, JBoss, WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat) and multi-tier enterprise architectures
- Develop and maintain automations using Python, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Docker
- Ensure system compliance with SLAs and security standards through effective incident/problem management
- Implement and operate enterprise monitoring suites (e.g., BMC, ServiceNow, Zabbix, ELK, Azure Monitoring)
- Manage CMDB and IT Asset Registry integrations, ensuring proper infrastructure documentation and visibility
- Apply ITIL processes (Patch, Incident, Problem Management) in a production environment
- Utilize tools like Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, ARM, and CloudFormation for configuration and orchestration
- Participate in vulnerability management and IT security compliance processes (e.g., ISO27001, PCI-DSS)
- Contribute to the creation of documentation and promote knowledge sharing among support teams
Requirements
- 3–10 years of experience in IT Operations or Infrastructure Engineering
- Deep technical knowledge of hybrid infrastructure management and cloud platforms
- Experience in automation, monitoring, patching, and configuration management tools
- Solid scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bicep, KQL) and API integrations
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and related frameworks
- Proficient in supporting enterprise-grade systems across multiple environments
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and interfacing with client stakeholders
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
