Job Purpose:
We are seeking an IT Project Manager to join our team in supporting the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). The successful candidate will manage and deliver large, enterprise-wide projects with a focus on Software Development, Data Visualization, and Vendor Management. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation of projects that create world-class educational experiences for K-12 students, teachers, parents, and school staff across Arizona. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise and experience in managing complex projects with a focus on collaboration, adaptability, and innovation.
Requirements
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Oversee the execution of Software Development, Data Visualization, and Vendor Management initiatives.
- Define project objectives, goals, and tasks and allocate resources accordingly to ensure successful delivery.

- Agile Methodology:
- Apply Agile principles to enable flexible and collaborative project execution in a dynamic environment.
- Facilitate regular scrum meetings and collaborative sprint planning sessions to ensure project progress and stakeholder alignment.

- Stakeholder Management:
- Engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders, addressing any risks, issues, or roadblocks.
- Adapt to unexpected changes and shifts in priorities, particularly those related to government policy changes.

- Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, developers, and vendors, to achieve project success.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase project efficiency.

- Data Strategy & Insights:
- Develop and implement data strategies that align with project objectives and organizational goals.
- Lead and manage data and BI teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and actionable insights.
- Extract insights from datasets when required and translate technical data into clear, understandable information for non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, specifically with Software Development, Data Visualization, and Vendor Management.
- Proven success in managing large, enterprise-wide projects and working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading projects in Agile environments and using Agile principles to deliver results.

- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of IT project management principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong technical and solutioning acumen to address frequent changes and evolving requirements.
- Proficient in budget management, resource allocation, and translating business objectives into actionable plans.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with data strategy development, BI team management, and extracting insights from datasets.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in Agile, PMP, or related methodologies preferred.
