Java Lead Developer

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Lead Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead a team of developers in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Java applications. You will be responsible for technical leadership, code quality, and ensuring best practices in software development.

Location: Tampa, FL.

Work model: Onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.

1. Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

1. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

1. Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and other teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration.

Required Qualifications:

· 8+ years of experience in developing and maintaining backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.

· Experience in Java 11 or 17, Spring Boot 2 or 3, MongoDB

· Strong understanding and working experience of REST API, 12-factor microservice principles

· Good understanding of different types of testing and their importance

· How CICD works (what is green/blue or canary deployment)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
