Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated early-career Commercial Analyst to join our growing team and support business development and financial modelling efforts during a critical commercialisation phase. Working closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and BD Manager, this role will help enhance financial modelling in preparation for Kite Magnetics’ Series A investment round and contribute to market-facing pricing strategy and customer engagement initiatives.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate (within 3 years) of a finance, commerce, or economics degree who is passionate about innovation, comfortable with data and modelling, and eager to grow with a high-impact Australian manufacturing startup.

Targeting Commencement Before September 30th

Reporting to: Chief of Staff

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Modelling & Strategy Support 

  • Assist in refining the company’s financial model and supporting data for Series A investment readiness. 
  • Support pricing strategy development by modelling cost structures and customer ROI scenarios. 
  • Help analyse unit economics and performance metrics across different manufacturing and licensing models. 
  • Prepare data and analysis for investor updates, presentations, and due diligence. 

2. Business Development Support 

  • Conduct market research and support opportunity qualification in target sectors (e.g. transport, defence, renewables). 
  • Help prepare and refine pitch materials, including customer-specific commercial proposals. 
  • Track and update sales pipeline data in collaboration with the BD Manager. 
  • Assist in planning and follow-up for industry events, customer calls, and product demonstrations. 

3. Cross-Functional Analysis and Coordination 

  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and BD teams to gather inputs for business modelling. 
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including investors, advisors, and research partners as needed. 
  • Contribute to internal dashboards and KPI reporting. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field (completed within the past 3 years).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel or financial modelling tools.
  • Demonstrated interest in commercialising technology or supporting early-stage ventures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation.
