ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving issues in our production environment, triaging escalations, and proactively monitoring the systems and sub-systems that support our application services. You'll work as part of a tight-knit team with broad experience across the tech stack—each team member brings unique skills, and we all thrive as versatile technology generalists.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of supported products and environments
  • Create and maintain documentation for operational procedures and resolution of system alerts
  • Perform change management for service and product configurations, provisioning, and commissioning
  • Proactively monitor complex application and production environments
  • Respond to system alerts via monitoring systems (email, mobile, etc.)
  • Perform root cause analysis in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Take full ownership of reported issues from initiation through resolution
  • Work closely with development teams to understand the application environment
  • Collaborate with product management to understand application scope and impact
  • Balance day-to-day operational responsibilities with longer-term operational projects
  • Work with technologies such as Cassandra, MQTT, Docker, and Kubernetes

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
  • Scripting proficiency in Bash and familiarity with common shell utilities
  • Solid understanding of SQL, relational schema, joins, and sub-queries
  • General understanding of networking concepts
  • Proficiency in Python, Git, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Jira is a plus
  • Experience with Go is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek
  • Collaborative mindset; able to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Willingness to support operations during off-business hours remotely, if needed
