Junior QA Engineer Automation Testing

As a Junior QA Automation Tester, you will become part of our Canada based QEA practice, which provides a full range of QEA services to our Canadian clients across multiple industry sectors, including automation test development, agile QE, DevOps engineering, performance testing, manual testing, test design, and test consulting. You will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of automated testing solutions for our banking clients. You will work under the guidance of senior QA engineers to create test scripts, execute automated test cases, and analyze results to ensure software quality.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills):

• Must have 2-3 years of hands-on demonstrable development experience in Automation – Java, Selenium, Python, BDD Cucumber.
• Good understanding of software testing principles and methodologies; prior QA experience or related projects (e.g., internships, academic projects).
• Good Knowledge of quality assurance and testing types, including unit, integration, load, and performance testing.
• Knowledge of Database Testing in different RDBMS like MySQL and Oracle using JDBC.
• Self-motivated individuals with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the passion and appetite to learn newer technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree with preferred majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems.

What will help you stand out (preferred skills):

• Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools.
• ISTQB or similar certification in software testing is a plus.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java or Python.
• Design, implement, and enhance test automation frameworks to support scalability, reusability, and maintainability of automated test suites.
• Execute automated and manual test cases, analyze test results, and document/report defects.
• Generate comprehensive test reports and documentation to communicate test results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Configure and maintain test environments to support automated testing activities.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
