Our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Site Foreman or leading hand/carpenters ready to take the step up into supervision roles to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in construction management while working on exciting and challenging projects across the industrial and education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in managing day-to-day operations of the construction site.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of subcontractors and construction crews.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress and assist with project scheduling to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues to senior management.
  • Assist with ordering and tracking construction materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the site is organised, clean, and free of hazards.
  • Support with site administration tasks, including daily logs and progress reports.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as a carpenter or experience as a leading hand and/or site foreman, preferably within commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, tools, and safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • QBCC Site Supervisor license or ability to apply for one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction Management or carpentry trade qualification.
  • Experience with project management software or construction site management tools.
  • First Aid and/or Safety certifications.
