General Role Description

Manage the infrastructure and operational integrity of the Industrial Systems Business Unit (ISBU) system test labs

Role Accountabilities

-  Ensure continuous operation, maintenance, and upgrade of simulation hardware for control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, and automation components

-  Manage lab layout and equipment installation to enable safe, efficient, and secure operation of the systems test tab in accordance with 6S principles

-  Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, configure switches and routers, and implement network segmentation where required to maintain lab communication environments

-  Document network topologies and configurations for transparency and repeatability

-  Coordinate scheduling of lab resources and ensure system readiness

-  Maintain an inventory of lab assets including hardware, software licenses, and network devices

-  Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including network diagrams, lab procedures, and incident logs

-  Provide regular reports on lab status, cybersecurity posture, and improvement plans to management

-  Proactively identify opportunities to improve lab efficiency, scalability, and security posture

-  Apply and maintain cybersecurity controls for the labs in accordance with IEC 62443 standards and internal security policies, under the guidance of the Cybersecurity Engineer,

-  Track the receipt, testing, and shipment of automation systems using the Company’s ERP system

-  Control document distribution, and archiving within area of responsibility using established document control procedures, these documents include: Ship List Tracking, Outgoing Shipment Labels, Purchase Orders, BOL, Quotes/Invoices

-  Receive incoming shipments of PC’s, monitors and PLC equipment for project specific automation systems, using an ERP system

-  Identify issues with received project specific automation systems equipment and take corrective action or coordinate with appropriate departments as necessary to ensure correct identification of the shipped equipment

-  Create purchase requisitions for material and equipment for the lab, and for projects as requested

-  Track the location of all client-supplied material

-  Track the location of all lab equipment and materials including client-supplied materials

-  Maintain the inventory databases and follow the procedures for disposal of damaged/obsolete equipment established by the Finance department

-  Ship automation systems to clients, vendors, and parent and group companies as appropriate

-  Update software, maintain hardware, expand common lab computers, data storage, and network equipment to support system test activities

-  Administer virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to support simulation workloads, and create and maintain virtual machines with different OS and control software environments for testing and training purposes

-  Serve as the lab representative to the Company’s safety committee, Company representative to building management, and primary contact in the event of emergency for the IS labs

-  Perform safety checks of all IS lab areas and equipment, and document the results, not less often than quarterly

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

-   Technical diploma or associate degree in industrial automation, electrical/electronics technology, computer networking, mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience

-   1 year of hands-on experience in industrial lab environments, IT/OT infrastructure, or automation systems

-   Demonstrated success as contributing member in project team

-   Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts

-   Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills

-   Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility

-   Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook

-   Availability to travel typically less than 5% of the time and sometimes on short notice

Preferred Qualifications

-   3 years of experience in industrial automation, IT/OT systems, or lab management.

-   Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and frameworks, especially IEC 62443

-   ERP system experience to include shipping, receiving, inventory control transactions

-   Basic understanding of electrical circuit principles.

-   Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

-   Experience in managing a level 1 automation system test facility.

-   Proficiency in Visio or other common CAD drawing tools

-   Advanced Excel skills

-   Proficiency in Visual Basic
